The Houston Police Foundation serves a vital role - connecting private investment dollars with effective public safety solutions. Chief Harold Hurtt and Hollywood’s G.W. Bailey, who stars in The Closer (and was the captain in the Police Academy movies), oversaw a mock hostage situation in which KTRK-TV’s Wayne Dolcefino (who had ‘intruded’ into the festivities with a ‘cameraman’) and Sunny 99.1’s Dana Tyson were taken hostage by a group called Crustacean Nation. SWAT along with Air Support saved the day when the members of Crustacean Nation finally surrendered amidst a shoot out which concluded with SWAT officers rappelling down the side of the home and saving Dana...
